In a city, where they met as girls, four women would go on to change TV history, pop culture, and the way we date forever. If you are a true Sex and the City fan, own a tv, or have access to the Internet, you are aware of the 10 -episode revival of Sex and the City. As excited as we are to see what our girls have been up to, we couldn’t help but wonder what will happen with Samantha jones?

You may have gotten attached to the Carrie and Big drama, but you were entertained by Samantha. Samantha Jones was the “sex” in Sex and the City. She was the one with the crazy one nighters and the graphic sex scenes that got us absolutely hooked.

A problem with not bringing Samantha back for the short-lived revival is the lack of closure her character will get. In the series and the movie, she had no true closure. Spoiler alerts ahead. Carrie and Mr. Big got married and found a nice life together, even after that train-wreck of SATC 2. Miranda and Steve had a baby, got married and moved to Brooklyn. They even bounced back after Steve’s infidelity. Charlotte, after her tumultuous relationship with her first husband, found love with her second husband, Harry. Charlotte and Harry did have trouble conceiving but they eventually adopted a daughter, Lily. In the movie we see Charlotte get her happily ever after when she gets pregnant and has daughter, Rose, making her family complete.

Back to Ms. Jones. We saw her character take major developments through the fourth and sixth season. Viewers got to see the sexy PR mogul become vulnerable and open herself up to love. In the fourth season we saw that with the short-lived relationship with Maria and the rollercoaster entanglement with her then boss, Richard Wright. If you remember, Richard was the first man Samantha had loved on the show, but he broke her heart when she caught him “eating another’s woman pussy.”

In the sixth season we were introduced to Jerry Jared, who Samantha renamed Smith Jared. In the beginning we thought we were getting just another one-night stand with a hot waiter but when Smith returned for another episode and viewers were left scratching their heads. “What’s he doing back?” As Sam thought this was a just a fling, we seen Smith rise to the occasion and prove himself to be just what Samantha needed. True love.

Sadly, at the end of the first movie Sam ended things with Smith as she wanted to go back to her old lifestyle. However, SATC the movie came out in 2008 and we saw Sam celebrating her 50th birthday. It is 2021, What is the now 63-year-old doing now? Is she still having a fabulous life and enjoying hot sex? Did she stand by own words- “I will wear whatever and blow whomever I want as long as a I can breathe and kneel.”

Are the writers going to be lazy and say she died? If they did go this route, I would hope they would talk about her often and show lots of pictures of her and it is not like the Shannen Doherty / “Charmed” debacle. Well, I guess it would not be too lazy if they say her breast cancer came back, and she lost her battle. I want flashbacks of the funeral. I want the ladies to be distraught. I want a whole grieving episode showing how each of the ladies is dealing with this major loss. I want to cry so hard that the glue holding my lashes to my eyelid dissolve.

Overall, I just don’t want my girl to be done half-assed. Kim Cattrall gave her all to bring this character to life and a character as big as Samantha Jones deserves to go out with a bang! With that being said I am happy to see that SATC will be coming back for a short time. I’m so exciting to see what my girls are going to be like in their 50s. Will Carrie and Big’s marriage still be strong? What did type-A Miranda do after quitting her career as a lawyer? Brady will be almost 20! How are Charlotte and Harry handling two teenage girls? And can they show us Anthony and Standford?! Sex and the City is my favorite show and I just want the best for all the characters.

Love a sexy (SATC fan)
